Today, the major semiconductor & printed circuit board markets lie in Japan, America, Europe and Asia, but the most rapidly expanding market lies in Asia including China as the core.In this change in the worldwide market trend, we have been making keen efforts for global business to strengthen our competitiveness and meet user's needs more rapidly .
Owing to these efforts, our overseas sales amount now exceeds 40% in the consolidated sales amount. Our development, production and sales divisions will continue to cooperate with each other to support customer's global production systems as in the past. Our Plastic Materials Division established a production site for IC encapsulation materials and molding compounds in Thailand (Ayuthaya) in 1994 to build a site for production and sales in South Asia.
Assuming that China is the most promising market for semiconductors, automotive parts and household electrical appliance parts, it also established a production site in Shanghai and started to produce molding compounds in December 2002 and IC encapsulation materials in 2005.
Now, the capacity of factories in Japan and Asia can meet all the demand in Asia.
Circuit Board Materials Division has established production sites for paper base materials in China (Suzhou) and Thailand (Ayuthaya). As for Multi-layer Circut Board Materials, it has constructed a global production/sales network by establishing bases in Japan, Taiwan, China (Guangzhou, Suzhou) and Europe.
Considering the rapidly increasing demand in China, it also moved production equipment from the USA to China (Suzhou) in 2005 and started a new company there to produce Multi-layer Circuit Board Materials in June 2006.
